Hypothyroidism

A condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone.

Hypothyroidism causes a slowing in the metabolism, which affects the entire body. Individuals who have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism may expirience symptoms such as fatigue, unexplained weight gain, dry skin and cold sensitivity. The most common treatment currently available is thyroid hormone replacement.

  • Between the ages of 18-75
  • Diagnosed with primary hypothyroidism for a year or more
  • Stable on levothyroxine for a year or more
